CULTURAL HUMILITY: BLACK VOICES AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP SERIES:
Workshops are designed for Regional Center's Service Coordinators & Staff, service providers and we welcomed Advocates, Educators, Parents and caregiver. The series of workshops will provide tools, insight and opportunity for community partnership. Through assessing bias and beliefs within the African-American community we introduce practices for culturally informed inquiry to further support and sustain mutually inclusive multicultural environments. We support parents and caregivers of African American children (all ages) with developmental disabilities; educate families and caregivers to know the signs of developmental disabilities; promote early intervention and to ultimately increase the understanding of services available to them.
Connect with us through social media, support groups, community events and community outreach.
We support through training, mentoring, and education to empower parents and caregivers.
We educate local childcare agencies, law enforcement and school districts .
